SOUTH KOREAN YOUTH CHOOSES XRP OVER BITCOIN AND ETHEREUM IN GENZ'S CRYPTO REBELLION

South Korea, known for its tech-savvy population and high interest in crypto investments, has brought a new trend using XRP to the forefront.

According to a survey just released by the news site News1 Korea in South Korea, the country's Generation Z (GenZ) prefers alternative cryptocurrencies, especially XRP, over Bitcoin and Ethereum, which are more well-known on the cryptocurrency market.

GENZ'S MOVE TO ALTCOINS

The paper thoroughly examined investment data on Bithumb, one of South Korea's biggest cryptocurrency exchanges. The findings of this investigation shed light on the various investment behaviours of different age groups, with a particular emphasis on the decisions made by GenZ investors.

The results of the age-based investment study show that people in their 20s or from Generation Z are more likely to be "aggressive" investors. Altcoins, alternatives to the most popular cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), are very popular with this new group of investors. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and Litecoin (LTC) are two of these coins.

In this analysis, Bitcoin and Ethereum are categorized as "long-term" and "stable investments" because of both cryptocurrencies' minimal perceived market volatility.

According to the survey findings, around 82.5% of Generation Z investors have put their money into alternative cryptocurrencies rather than Ethereum. However, XRP is the one that sticks out from the rest of the crowd. This token has been selected as the principal altcoin for investment by about one-fifth of all GenZ investors, which is exactly 20.7% of all GenZ investors.

WHAT PLAYS XRP HAS IN THE BIGGER PICTURE

This increase in interest in the altcoin among younger South Korean investors starkly contrasts the pattern seen among those slightly older.

Investors in their twenties were more interested in Bitcoin and Ethereum. This shows that while millennials still tend to stick with the well-known crypto leaders, GenZ is more open to trying out new altcoins that might be risky.

A report published by the cryptocurrency derivatives platform Bitget found that roughly half of the crypto copy traders operating on the exchange are members of the GenZ demographic. This finding sheds additional light on the current trend.

About the token, cryptocurrency attorney John Deaton recently noted that the US Securities and Exchange Commission's (SEC) legal struggle with Ripple over the XRP token may have considerably set the altcoin's trajectory back in the US market by three years. This occurred because of the SEC's desire to prevent Ripple from selling its token.

In the meantime, the value of the cryptocurrency is currently trading at $0.52, representing an increase of 1.9% over the last 24 hours, and the 24-hour trading volume is now at $1 billion.
