One of the founders of a crypto company recently stated that one of the most significant barriers to adopting Bitcoin is Ethereum because of the differences in the utility of the two cryptocurrencies. This is true even though Bitcoin's adoption has been successful over the past several years.
THE FOUNDER OF BITCOIN SAYS ETHEREUM IS A MAJOR PROBLEM
The founder of the Built With Bitcoin Foundation, Ray Yossouf, believes that Ethereum presents a significant barrier to using Bitcoin. Yossouf remarked on this in response to a debate on drive chains posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Ray's tweet was a response to a post made public by Pierre Rochard. Ray's tweet was sent out as a response to the center. The post discussed a conversation that had taken place between a researcher by the name of Timoleon Moraitis and Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, citing Buterin's lack of interest in Drivechains. The conversation was about a researcher by the name of Timoleon Moraitis.
In most cases, drivechains make it possible for the Bitcoin network to generate, remove, transmit, and receive Bitcoins despite the presence of secondary chains known as sidechains. The creator of Ethereum does not appear to be open to the concept.
Yossouf made the most of this occasion to express his viewpoint on the topic at hand by stating that "ETH has been the biggest block against Bitcoin adoption." In addition, the founder utilized this as a platform to promote his application known as civil, which is designed to create a peer-to-peer (P2P) electronic market resistant to censorship and does not require permission to participate.
"At first, I thought it may be useful if we copied it, but now I realize that the drawbacks outweigh any potential benefits. According to Yossouf, "#civkit will replicate what is required on ultrasound honest money and leave the rest for the scammers."
VITALIK BELIEVES THAT BITCOIN IS THE CAUSE OF ITS ADOPTION SETBACK
In response to claims that Ethereum slows down the adoption of Bitcoin, Vitalik hit back that Bitcoin needs to do more than just accept payments and address its current scalability problems.
He emphasized that more things can be learned from Ethereum compared to Bitcoin, and the reason for this is that Bitcoin's transaction speed is so slow, and there are challenges with scaling Bitcoin.
When asked about the newly introduced Ordinals protocol, he stated that his time spent working with Ethereum had shown him that reaching a decision by consensus is difficult and is a characteristic of social systems in general. He compared it to a situation in which it would have been simpler for a small team to create Uber than it would have been for several committees to find out the most effective method to handle the problem of public transportation.
Vitalik went on to emphasize that, in his opinion, maximalism is absurd and that Bitcoin has successfully integrated its technological and cultural systems, resulting in strange politics holding it back.
"Sometimes people in (BTC-land) say things that go way too extreme, crazy, and factually incorrect and falsifiable six months later," the founder of Ethereum was quoted as saying. "I wasn't really into being part of that," the Ethereum founder said.
Vitalik voiced his thoughts in the conversation by adding, "Miners cannot make invalid blocks become part of the canonical chain event even with 51%." Additionally, he stated that miners no longer hold the authority on PoW blockchains.
On the other hand, due to the notoriously low transaction throughput supported by the Bitcoin protocol, this discussion generates much disagreement in the Bitcoin community.
